Diabetes and Nutrition

Diabetes, nutrition and metabolic diseases is the medical specialty that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of patients with diabetes or who suffer from diseases caused by inadequate nutrition or metabolism disorders.\n\nUnfortunately, around the world, millions of people suffer from diabetes. This is a condition that is characterized by high blood glucose concentration (hyperglycaemia), the metabolism disrupting as a result of changes that occur in the body. The hormone that helps cells in the body to use glucose as an energy source is insulin, and when insulin secretion is not enough, the consequence is diabetes mellitus.
